Ten-man Leeds United went down to a 1-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.

Leeds had to play for over 50 minutes after Eunan O`Kane was shown a straight red card for an incident with Ipswich defender Jonas Knudsen.

Despite playing with ten-men, it took a wonder strike from Bersant Celina to win the game for the home side halfway through the second half.

Leeds had the first chance of the game but Pawel Cibicki could only fire high into the stand after he was found in space on the edge of the area.

Kemar Roofe also had chances for Leeds, having one effort blocked whilst he dragged another shot just wide.

The major turning point in the game came when Leeds had been enjoying a good spell in the game. O`Kane overran the ball with the ball going out for a goalkeeper. Jonas Knudsen squared up to O`Kane with the Ipswich defender then hitting the floor. With the referee on the spot, he had no hesitation in producing a red card for the Leeds midfielder.

Martyn Waghorn almost embarrassed Leeds keeper Felix Wiedwald when his corner hit the post and minutes later Celina saw his long-range effort comeback off the Leeds woodwork and Callum Connolly could only fire the rebound wide.

In the second half, Wiedwald made a good save to deny Connolly but he could do nothing to deny Celina halfway through the second half. Celina cut in from the left before firing home from 25-yards.

Leeds had chances to equalise in the closing minutes. Liam Cooper somehow scooped the ball over the bar from close range and Pierre-Michel Lasogga saw his injury time shot kept out by Dean Gerken in the Ipswich goal.

A disappointing defeat for Leeds and they will see the dismissal of O`Kane as the turning point in the game.
