Leeds United failed to build on their win against Middlesbrough at the weekend as they were put to the sword at league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves ran out 4-1 winners in a game that saw Leeds reduced to ten-men following the dismissal of Ronaldo Vieira.

Barry Douglas opened the scoring with a sweetly struck free-kick after Liam Cooper had given away a needless foul 25-yards out.

Ivan Cavaleiro doubled the lead ten minutes later when he found space in the area before firing past Andy Lonergan.

Leeds got a lifeline early in the second half when Ezgjan Alioski volleyed home his third goal in three games.

Any chance Leeds had of getting back into the game were dealt a major blow on the hour when Vieira was shown his second yellow card of the evening.

Wolves made the game safe on 72 minutes when Jota found space down the Leeds right and he coolly lifted the ball over Andy Lonergan.

They added a fourth minutes later when Helder Costa scored from the penalty spot after Lonergan had brought down Leo Bonatini.
