Super Samu Saiz Lifts Leeds

Leeds United returned to winning ways with an emphatic 3-0 win at Bristol City.

Samuel Saiz was the Leeds hero as he scored twice to halt a run of three straight defeats in the Championship.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga was also on target against a Bristol City side that had come into the game unbeaten in their previous twelve games.

Leeds flew out of the blocks and they were ahead in four minutes when Saiz fired home with the help of a deflection.

The Spaniard doubled the lead ten minutes later when he fired home after the Bristol City defence failed to clear.

The hosts rarely threatened the Leeds goal in the first half with Bobby Reid wasting their best chance when he headed wide from close range.

Leeds continued to press in the second half and Saiz almost had his hat-trick when an unselfish Ronaldo Vieira tried to set him up when he could have shot and the ball agonisingly went just past Saiz. Soon afterwards, defender Aden Flint denied Lasogga after the German striker had got beyond the keeper.

Lasogga wrapped up the three points for Leeds halfway through the second half with a glancing header from a Leeds corner.

A great afternoon was spoilt late on when Gaetano Berardi was shown a straight red card for an altercation with Matty Taylor with the Bristol City player also receiving his marching orders.
