Leeds United went down to their second defeat in four days with a poor performance at Hull City.
Leeds were never in the game and never looked like troubling an Hull City defence that dealt with the long high balls with ease all afternoon.
Amazingly the sides went in level at half time, with Hull dominating the game and having a number of chances to open the scoring but without ever troubling Paddy Kenny.
Robert Koren missed two great chances. His first chance came after a poor header by Alan Tate but he couldn`t keep his lob over Kenny on target and his second after he fired a shot wide from close range after good work by Ahmed Elmohamady on the Hull right.
Abdoulaye Faye came closest for the home side when his header from close range went into the side netting.
Leeds were very fortunate not to concede at least one penalty. Jason Pearce was twice guilty of bringing down a Hull attacker but both offences were waved away by referee Geoff Eltrigham.
The referee also only produced a yellow card for Leeds defender Aidy White when it could quite easily have been red for a bad foul on Elmohamady.
Leeds boss Neil Warnock made a change at half time with Luke Varney brought on to add more height in attack for the in effective Davide Somma.
It was Hull though who continued to look for an opener. The dangerous Sone Aluko saw an effort go just wide, David Meyler then just failed to get on the end of a cross from Aluko.
Meyler then produced a good save from Kenny after Leeds were opened up far too easily in the centre of midfield.
The pressure finally told when Corey Evans worked himself an opening down the Leeds right and he gave Kenny no chance with a shot across goal.
Minutes later the lead was doubled when Meyler beat Kenny with a powerful header.
Kenny then produced a good save at full stretch to deny Stephen Quinn as the home side looked for a third.
Leeds closest attempt on goal was a looping header by Varney in the closing moments of the game, which was all too easy for Eldin Jakupovic in the Hull goal, something that summed up the Leeds performance.
A return of no points from a possible sixth hasn`t done too much damage in their hopes of a play-off spot.
Leeds are ninth in the table, five points outside the play-off places but anymore performances like this and they will need to start looking over their shoulders at the sides below them and not the ones above.
