Leeds United booked their place in the fourth round of the Capital One League Cup with a 2-1 win over Everton at Elland Road.
A superb strike from Aidy White inside five minutes and a second by Rodolph Austin halfway through the second half ensured a deserved win for the patched up Leeds side.
Leeds boss Neil Warnock made three changes to the side that won at the weekend as the injury list grows and they finished the game with defenders Tom Lees and Jason Pearce with bandaged heads as the Leeds players put their bodies on the line.
White opened the scoring when he cut through the Everton defence inside five minutes and calmly beat Mucha for his first competitive goal for Leeds.
Leeds had kept Everton quiet in the first half and their only half chance fell to Victor Anichebe when he screwed his shot wide of the target.
White had a good chance to double the lead for Leeds after some good football but his shot was straight at Jan Mucha.
On the stroke of half time, Luciano Becchio had a great chance to double the lead but his header was straight at Mucha.
Everton manager David Moyes made two changes at half time with Phil Neville and Steven Pienaar coming on and it was Pienaar, who had the best chance in the opening ten minutes of the second half but he blazed over when in a good position.
Michael Tonge had Leeds first chance of the second half but he shot wide after a good run into the penalty area.
Chances were beginning to come and Steven Naismith headed wide of the target for Everton from close range.
The visitors were getting up a head of steam and Anichebe saw his shot go just wide of the Leeds goal.
Leeds responded and a run of corners had Everton penned in. The pressure paid off when Rodolph Austin got a faint touch to Danny Pugh`s shot to put Leeds two up.
It wasn`t until the 71st minute, that Leeds goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown was forced into a save when he got down well to deny Fellaini.
Sam Byram then almost worked himself a yard inside the Everton area, with the visiting defence scrambling the ball away for a corner.
Everton got a lifeline in the game in the 81st minute when Sylvain Distin got above Jason Pearce to head home.
Despite four minutes of added time, Everton could not find a way back into the game as Leeds booked their place in the fourth round.
