Henry goal downs Leeds

Thierry Henry returned for Arsenal and scored the only goal of the game to win a tight FA Cup tie.

Leeds set out their stall to frustrate Arsenal, they limited the Premier League side to only a host of half chances, and they looked to be heading for a replay until substitute Henry scored the only goal of the game.

Henry scored with just twelve minutes remaining as he got in behind the Leeds defence to shoot across Andy Lonergan with a trademark finish.

Leeds made few chances but Luciano Becchio and Ross McCormack missed good chances.

Becchio blazed over in the first half when in a good position and McCormack could only divert his header from close range straight into Szczesny`s hands late in the game.

A good day out and we didnt get the drubbing some were predicting. I would have preferred to have seen us have a bit more of a go in the first half but they dominated so much in midfield that we couldnt get going. Lonergan looked back to his best form at last after a few shaky games.

Disappointed we really didn't have a go at them, especially in the second half having contained them in the first.

Obvious gulf in class, we are a long way off premiership level, it just brings a touch of reality to our current status

Henry should have been booked for the kick at White
Tiny T
Yes I agree but what I liked about White is that he took it like a man, never complained and tried to get forward. Most premiership players would have went down as if they were shot and the remainder of the team waving imaginary cards like Rooney did. Well done Leeds players showed a bit of dignity.
