Leeds United bounced back from their humiliating 5-0 defeat to Blackpool in midweek with a hard fought victory at Leicester City.
Adam Clayton scored the only goal of the game with just over twenty minutes remaining and it was a goal worthy of winning any game as he beat former Leeds goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with a curling shot from 25 yards.
Simon Grayson made just the two enforced changes with on loan goalkeeper Alex McCarthy making his debut and Andy O`Brien returning in defence in place of the suspended Tom Lees.
It was a game of very few changes with new Leeds keeper McCarthy having very little to do. He had one shot to tip over in the first half but other than that, he had a very quiet debut.
Leeds looked the more threatening but Schmeichel was also having very little to do with both defences on top.
Andy Keogh had a great chance early in the second half after a poor clearance from Schmeichel. Keogh tried to chip the ball over him into an empty net but his effort was weak and easy for Schmeichel.
McCormack then had a great chance for Leeds but he failed to hit the target when in a good position and his claims for a penalty were waved away.
Clayton scored the winner on 69 minutes when his well directed shot from outside the area gave Schmeichel no chance.
Former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford came on for Leicester and he had a decent chance following a long clearance from Schmeichel but he failed to control the ball when in a good position.
Leeds were beginning to defend deeper and deeper but Leicester couldn`t force their way through a well-organised Leeds defence.
Despite five minutes of stoppage time being shown, Leeds held on comfortably to record their first win in four games.
The win moves Leeds back up to seventh in the championship table as they head into the international break.
