O'Dea claims dramatic winner for Leeds

Referee:

Leeds United claimed all three points with a dramatic injury time winner at Peterborough United.

Boss Simon Grayson made changes with Mika Vayrynen making his first start for Leeds in place of Robert Snodgrass and Lloyd Sam and Ramon Nunez returning to the bench.

Leeds made the perfect start inside five minutes when Andy Keogh fired in from the edge of the area.

Ross McCormack and Adam Clayton both had shots across the face of the goal as Leeds looked to increase their lead.

Peterborough were level halfway through the half when Zakuani beat Tom Lees at the back post to head in.

Keogh then had a great chance to restore the lead for Leeds but Jones in the Peterborough goal denied him.

The home side were reduced to ten men before half time when Lee Tomlin was shown a straight red for a poor tackle on Andy Keogh.

Leeds almost made their numerical advantage pay before half time when McCormack was put through but Jones once again saved well to deny Leeds leading goalscorer.

Grayson made an early change in the second half with Lloyd Sam replacing Mika Vayrynen.

The winger was quickly into the action, as Leeds looked much more creative out wide.

Leeds went ahead for a second time within ten minutes of the restart when Sam laid the ball off for Clayton who scored with his left foot from the edge of the area.

Leeds were controlling the game with their numerical advantage but Peterborough were still looking a threat when on the ball.

It looked like Leeds were going to be punished for the second time in four days for not killing off a game when in control.

Peterborough equalised with just two minutes remaining when a comedy of errors in the Leeds defence, eventually saw Mark Little nip in to equalise for the home side.

It looked like Peterborough were the more likely side to go on and claim the three points as they went close from a free kick and a corner.

With the four minutes of time already played Leeds won a free kick deep in the Peterborough half.

Darren O`Dea reacted quickly in the Peterborough area to hook the ball goal wards. His effort came off the underside of the bar and over the line and Luciano Becchio was on hand to make sure, when he headed in.

Leeds had somehow managed to claim all three points when it looked like they had thrown two away minutes earlier.

The win moves Leeds into the play off places and they will hope to extend their unbeaten run to eight when they play their game in hand at Birmingham on Wednesday night.
