Three-sy does it for Leeds

Leeds United cruised to victory at Doncaster Rovers in boss Simon Grayson`s 150th game in charge of the club.

Goals from Danny Pugh, Ross McCormack and Tom Lees brought to an end Doncaster`s unbeaten run under new manager Dean Saunders.

Grayson named the same eleven that started against Portsmouth last time out.

Doncaster had an early chance when they had a free kick in a good position but Stock hit his shot straight into the Leeds wall.

In a scrappy start to the game chances were few and far between.

Leeds took the lead on twenty minutes when Danny Pugh found himself unmarked at the back post to fire in following a Robert Snodgrass free kick.

Andy Keogh was next to have a go for Leeds but his shot from distance went wide of the post.

Ross McCormack then fancied his chances from distance but his free kick was straight at Kirkland in the Rovers goal.

Jon Parkin had Rovers best chance of the first half but he headed wide from close range.

Leeds went into the break deservedly in front after controlling much of the first half.

The lead was doubled early in the second half after some good possession football. Keogh eventually playing in McCormack, who scored with an acrobatic overhead kick.

Leeds made it three when Tom Lees out muscled former Leeds defender Richard Naylor at a corner to plant a header firmly past Kirkland in the Doncaster goal.

Leeds totally controlled the second half and the hard working Andy Keogh almost made it four when his effort came crashing back off the underside of the bar.

With the game over as a contest, Leeds were happy to run down the clock as Doncaster failed to trouble the Leeds defence.

A good away win for Leeds that sees them climb into the play off places and into fifth place.

The only sour note of the evening was a dislocated finger suffered by goalkeeper Andy Lonergan who was replaced by Paul Rachubka.

Leeds are quickly back in action when they entertain Coventry City on Tuesday night.

We never let them have a look in, controlled display from front to back deserved 3 points and clean sheet

Probably the best team performance of the season. Never looked in trouble. First half was scrappy but we dominated the second half.

Donny didn't know what hit them...Leeds never stopped going forward even when two goals up and got their reward scoring again...I thought it was going to be another sit back display second half...I think Grayson might just have the defence sorted After our last two games hopefully!''...''Great display all around''...
