Leeds suffered only their second defeat in their last twenty-one Championship games as Swansea City eased to victory at the Liberty Stadium.
The early kick off seemed to disrupt Leeds as most seemed to still be in their beds as Swansea claimed the points with a 3-0 win thanks to two goals from Scott Sinclair and one from Luke Moore.
It was also the first time that Leeds had failed to score in a Championship game for fourteen games, the longest run in the division this season.
Leeds looked sluggish from the start and could quite have been behind early on when Dobbie hit a post.
Moments later, poor marking at a corner allowed a free shot for a Swansea attacker but he flashed his shot wide of the post.
They eventually took the lead on thirteen minutes when Sinclair and Moore combined for Sinclair to finish with ease.
Swansea continued to dominate and Schmeichel did well to get down and keep out a Dyer shot.
Ashley Williams was next to threaten the Leeds goal, his header being tipped over the bar.
Leeds had to wait until the final five minutes of the half to get close to the Swansea goal.
Robert Snodgrass had strong claims for a penalty turned down when Alan Tate blocked his shot quite clearly with his arm but the referee and his assistant both waved away the Leeds appeals.
Minutes later, Davide Somma saw his header come back off the bar as Leeds finished the half strongly after being outplayed for long periods of the first half.
Leeds started the second half better than the first but it was Swansea, who created the first clear opening of the half. Nathan Dyer had a free header inside the six-yard area but it lacked pace and was straight at Schmeichel.
Within ten minutes of the second half starting it was 2-0. Dyer, who was being a constant threat down the right, got himself the wrong side of Gradel and the Leeds midfielder brought him down, with the referee having no doubt this time in awarding a penalty.
Scott Sinclair stepped up to send Schmeichel the wrong way and score his and Swansea`s second goal of the afternoon.
Leeds best chance of getting back into the game fell to Somma but his effort was straight at the keeper when in on goal.
Mark Gower almost made it 3-0 for the home side when Schmeichel got the faintest of touches on his free kick to turn it against the post.
They didn`t have to wait long to make it three, Dobbie split a static Leeds defence and Luke Moore stroked the ball past Schmeichel.
Leeds substitutes Billy Paynter and Sanchez Watt both had chances and Somma also saw a late shot just clear the bar, but it was Swansea who eased to the three points.
