The West Yorkshire derby between Huddersfield Town and Leeds United finished all square after a pulsating game of football at the Galpharm Stadium.
Leeds made one change from the side that beat Oldham Athletic in midweek.
Gary McSheffrey replaced Aidan White in midfield; there was also a return for Tresor Kandol on the bench.
Jermaine Beckford had the ball in the back of the net in the first few minutes but the referee had already blown his whistle for a foul on Kay.
Huddersfield had enjoyed the early exchanges but it was Leeds, who had the first proper chance but Becchio`s header cleared the bar.
Huddersfield took the lead with the first shot on target; Antony Pilkington`s long-range shot took a deflection and gave Ankergren no chance in the Leeds goal.
Snodgrass came close to equalising for Leeds but his shot was well saved by Smithies in the Town goal.
Pilkington almost got his second of the afternoon but this time his effort just missed the target.
Rhodes had an even better chance to make it 2-0 but his effort failed to hit the target when unmarked.
Novak had a good chance on the stroke of half time but his shot went wide of the post.
Leeds went in at half time lucky to be just one goal behind after allowing Huddersfield players far too much space on the ball.
Pilkington started the second half off the way he`s played the first by showing Lowry a clean pair of heels, this time Ankergren was quickly off his line to snuff out the danger.
Beckford had a great chance to equalise for Leeds inside the opening first five minutes of the second half but his weak header missed the target.
Leeds were enjoying a bit more of the attacking play in the second half and Peter Clarke just managed to get his foot to the ball with Beckford ready to pounce.
Leeds pressure finally paid when a good cross from Snodgrass found the head of Howson who gave Smithies no chance just past the hour mark.
Luciano Becchio fired Leeds into the lead soon afterwards when he got his head to a Snodgrass corner.
Huddersfield came close to equalising soon afterwards but his glancing header just missed the target.
Huddersfield had a great chance to make it 2-2 but Ankergren made a fantastic save to deny Novak.
Leeds could have extended their lead seconds later but Beckford just failed to convert his chance.
Leeds made their first change of the game with just under fifteen minutes remaining, Bradley Johnson replacing Gary McSheffrey.
Huddersfield equalised with just over five minutes remaining when Gary Roberts got to a Pilkington cross to set up a tense final few minutes.
Leeds brought on Tresor Kandol in place of Luciano Becchio for the final few minutes to try to find a winner.
The referee added five minutes of added time on with both sides still searching for a winner in an enthralling West Yorkshire derby.
Neither side could find a clear cut chance in the time added on and after a shaky first half Leeds battled back well to earn a deserved point.
