Leeds snatch late leveller

Leeds had to settle for a point with an equaliser in the dying seconds after dominating for long periods of the game.

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was still without influential players Patrick Kisnorbo and Jermaine Beckford for the game.

The whites welcomed back Leigh Bromby, Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson to the starting eleven in place of Lubomir Michalik, Jon Howson and Mike Doyle.

Leeds first chance of the game fell to McSheffrey after a mistake by Jones in the Orient goal, his lobbed shot landed on the roof of the net with Jones in no man`s land.

Leeds were enjoying plenty of early possession and after a good run and cross by Snodgrass, Mkandiwire had to make a last ditch stop to halt Leeds.

Snodgrass was next to go close but his shot went over the bar.

Leeds were really putting the pressure on the Orient goal and Jones made an excellent save from a McSheffrey header to keep it goalless.

Orient had their first effort on target just short of the half hour mark, Sean Thornton`s shot was straight at Ankergren.

Ankergren was forced into action again soon afterwards when he had to make a save from Demetriou.

Leeds came straight back at the home side, good work from Snodgrass who`s ball into the middle was turned over the bar by Johnson.

Snodgrass was causing the Orient defence problems and his shot was turned away for another corner, their sixth of the game.

Leeds were awarded a free kick in a great position just before half time after a foul on Johnson. Johnson got up to take the kick but his shot went wide of the target.

Jones was forced into another excellent save after Bromby was given plenty of space in the area.

Leeds went in at half time still at 0-0 despite dominating the half, which had seen them win nine corners and have eleven attempts on goal.

Leeds started the second half in the same vain quickly winning a corner to put the home side once again under pressure.

Naylor was the first to go close for Leeds in the second half but his shot whizzed just over the bar.

Gradel was next to chance his arm from distance but his effort also cleared the bar.

Adams forced Ankergren into his first save of the second half but it was easy for the big Dane.

Leeds made their first substitution of the afternoon with fifteen minutes remaining when Mike Grella replaced Max Gradel.

Orient had enjoyed more of the game in the second half and they took the lead with just over five minutes remaining when Mkandiwire headed in from an Adams cross.

Leeds equalised in the dying seconds of time added on when after a goalmouth scramble ended with Daniels putting into his own net.

It was virtually the last kick of the game and Leeds claimed a deserved point in a game they should have had wrapped up by half time.

However much we deserved not to lose we got lucky here. We are back to last season where we just KNOW we are going to concede a goal from a long cross or corner. Looking at the goal we again have Ankergren neither coming for the cross or staying on his line. Had he done either we would probably not have conceded. If he was on his line the header was a routine tip over the bar. We ned two stikers playing. Snodgrass, McSheffrey and Gradel are not strikers. they are a mixture of winger/ attacking midfielders. If Beckford isnt fit play Grella with Becchio

I still felt like we had dropped two points despite getting out of jail at the end. Maybe overall a point wasn't a bad result against Orient who are actually unbeaten so far in 2010 and one of the form sides in League One.
