Manchester United 0 - Leeds United 1

Old Trafford

03/01/10 1pm

Attendance: 74,526

Its been a long time but well worth the wait

Despite only being a League One side and against a team that are supposedly one of the best in Europe Leeds went to Old Trafford and won 1-0.

Jermaine Beckford scored the only goal of the game in the first half, a great ball from Jon Howson was played to Beckford and despite a poor first touch he was able to react quickest and put the ball past the Manchester keeper and defence.

Even after taking the lead Leeds thoroughly deserved the lead and both Beckford and Snodgrass came close to making it two.

Man United`s best chance fell to Michael Owen but he scuffed his shot when well placed.

A fantastic win for Leeds and their first since 1981 at Old Trafford, are we really a League One side?

Did Ferguson bemoan the 5 minutes in his post-match interview with ITV because it wasn't enough? The man can baffle.
