Leeds slip to first defeat

Leeds made two changes to the side that beat Norwich on Monday, Patrick Kisnorbo returned after illness and replaced Jason Crowe in defence whilst Casper Ankergren who came on inside the opening twenty minutes replaced Shane Higgs.

Millwall took the lead inside five minutes when Neil Harris headed in from a free kick.

Leeds were soon on level terms when Patrick Kisnorbo was quickest to react at a corner and smashed the ball into the net.

Sam Vokes almost gave Leeds the lead just past the half hour but Forde in the Millwall goal blocked his shot.

Millwall were having plenty of possession and chances without threatening Ankergren in the Leeds goal.

In a hard fought first half the sides went in level at 1-1.

Leeds had an early chance in the second half when Johnson`s free kick went just wide of the post.

Millwall had a great chance to take the lead but Craig missed the target with a free header from inside the six yard box.

Leeds made their first change of the afternoon when Tresor Kandol replaced Sam Vokes with twenty minutes remaining.

Millwall went back in front inside the final ten minutes when substitute Graham Alexander headed past Ankergren.

Kandol almost equalised for Leeds when his effort came back off the bar in the final minute.

The Kandol effort was Leeds final real chance and Millwall ran down the clock to send Leeds to their first defeat of the season.

all good things come to and end. shame it was against those *****ers. hopeully grayson will sort em out for tuesday. and 1 more thing, i would not start beckford on tuesday. ******** diabolical today.

I agree about Beckford his stupid agent has started all the gossip again...His head will be up his arse. We didint deserve to win today very shabby performance but on a positive note still top of the league with a game in hand we need to take max points fron the Bristol Rovers game... Think Grayson would of told some of the players some home truths at full time..The only thing that worries me is how light we are in midfield and are losing the personal battles that need to be won in there lets hope Grayson has something up his sleeve...MOT

our midfield is to lightweight and not been right all season

Ever since Howson has been stripped of captain he seems to have just gone.

This has been coming for a few games . We have been scraping results we barely deserved and now the dam has burst. We are missing Becchio's workrate holding up of the ball. Neither Vokes or Beckford work hard enough in that role and Vokes at the moment looks more Trundle than Freedman. Doyle and Howson are both ineffectual at the moment and snodd is having to do too much running back and tackling to be at his best up front. Bromby isnt a FB and gives us nothing going forward. I am sure Larry will sort it out now and get round pegs in round holes. I would bring back Kandol for Tuesday to partner Backford.

The players are staying down south till after the Bristol game so hopefully Grayson can sort them out, it has been on the cards for a while, be interesting to see what changes Grayson makes on Tuesday.
