LUFC The magnificent seven

1 - 2
Leeds United

Attendance: 8,810

Referee:

Leeds United made it a magnificent seven when winning a tough encounter at Colchester.

The result equalled a record that`s stood since 1973 when the great Don Revie side also won their first seven games of the season in all competitions.

The Whites took the lead early in the second half when Bradley Johnson continued his good early season goalscoring form when he headed in a cross from Robert Snodgrass.

Colchester drew level when Marques gave away a penalty for pulling back Kevin Lisbie.

Lisbie scored from the resulting spot kick.

Leeds won the game within ten minutes when Jermaine Beckford was alert inside the area to hammer the ball home.

Another great three points for Leeds and a perfect first month of the season.

Another great three points, Bradley Johnson seems like a different player this season. Since his arrival Graysons known the best way of how to get the best out of the likes of Kilkenny and Johnson.

We know it`s only early in the season but it seems LUFC and Charlton seem to have got the jump on the rest of the sides in League One and are already opening up a gap on the third placed team. A four point gap over five games is a helluva lot! We know that as the season progresses we will get better and better. Could this (finally) be our season?
