Becchio belter secures points

The Whites continued their perfect start to the season making it three wins out of three at Adams Park.

Leeds welcomed back leading goalscorer Jermaine Beckford for the clubs first ever visit to Wycombe Wanderers.

Luciano Becchio also returned to the starting line up after being a substitute in the midweek Carling Cup victory.

Chris Zebroski missed a great chance to give the host`s the lead but his tame shot was easy for Higgs.

Beckford could have scored a couple before half time, his first effort caught the post and later he blazed wide when put through.

Leeds dominated in the second half and deservedly took the lead just past the hour when Luciano Becchio`s fierce shot from the edge of the area gave Shearer in the Wycombe goal no chance.

Despite Leeds domination, Wycombe almost snatched a draw at the death when Green`s effort was superbly tipped onto a post by Higgs and out for a corner.

The Wycombe keeper came forward for the corner and it nearly cost them a second goal when the ball fell to Beckford from the clearance and his long range shot just went wide of the post.

Great to see Becchio get off the mark, a lot of pressure on him with Grella seemingly snapping at his heels for his place. The young American as a long way to go before he can break up the Beckford and Becchio partnership.

you was lucky 2day
terrier09
To be honest Terrier you couldn;t call it lucky...We dominated the full 90 minutes and they rarely had a chance so I wouldn't call that luck...We were consistent and stubborn and in the end got a comfortable 3 points.. That saying you guys were very impressive today and I'm sure you will be up there this season, hopefully with us! MOT!!!

Becchio steps up, only jealous Terriero9

We didnt dominate 90 mins. First half was 50/50. Second half we came out like attack attack attack. Eventually, becchio drills it in the bottom corner leaving keeper with no chance.
