Leeds travelled to the North East today to face Hartlepool United still desperate for points to avoid relegation whilst Leeds were guaranteed of a Play Off place.
Hartlepool stuck with the same staring eleven as the side that beat Yeovil last Saturday.
Bradley Johnson replaced Robert Snodgrass in the only change to the Leeds side from last weekend.
Jermaine Beckford almost gave Leeds a dream start in the first minute but he screwed his shot wide.
Hartlepool soon had their first chance, Ankergren saving from Joel Porter.
Beckford was soon having a sight on goal again for Leeds, this time his effort was saved on the line by Hartlepool defender Skarz.
In an entertaining opening Nardiello worked himself some space, but Ankergren was alert to deny the Hartlepool forward.
Leeds earned a free kick on the edge of the area after a cynical tackle on Beckford, from the resulting free kick Bradley Johnson`s free kick cannoned off the bar.
Sodje was next to go close for Leeds, his deflected header hit the cross bar and went over.
An entertaining first half was brought to an end without either side being able to break the deadlock.
Gary Liddle had the first chance of the second half for the hosts but shot wide when he had plenty of time to pick his spot.
Leeds took the lead on the hour when Jermaine Beckford`s turn and shot gave Budtz no chance in the Hartlepool goal.
Johnson tried again with another free kick but his effort this time was saved by Budtz.
Leeds secured another away win and will be hoping that results can go their way next weekend to ensure home advantage in the second leg of the Play offs.
