Leeds travelled to Walsall hoping to make it four wins in a row and continue to apply the pressure on the sides above them who are currently in the play off positions.
The Whites stuck to the same side that beat Southend United in midweek.
The home side took an early lead when Troy Deeney headed past Casper Ankergren.
Leeds only worthwhile effort of the first half was when Bradley Johnson drilled the ball into the net but the assistant had already raised his flag for offside.
Leeds probably produced on of their worst 45 minutes of the season and were lucky to go in at half time just 1-0 down.
Teams:
Walsall
Ince, Weston, Palmer, Gerrard, Boertien, Taundry,
Nicholls, Mattis, Zaaboub, Deeney, Ibhere.
Subs: Gilmartin, Sansara, Smith, Bradley, Williams.
Leeds
Ankergren
Hughes, Naylor, Marques, Dickinson, Robinson,
Delph, Douglas, Johnson, Beckford, Trundle.
Subs: Snodgrass, Becchio, Howson, Michalik, Howson
It didn`t get much better in the second half, Jonathan Douglas had probably Leeds best chance but his shot went straight at the keeper.
Robinson had a good chance to salvage Leeds an undeserved point in the last minute but his free kick went wide.
Leeds have a quick chance to rectify this performance when they travel to Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
It will be very interesting to see if any new players come in before the transfer window closes on Monday.
