Leeds United 1 - Leicester City 1

LUFC - Leeds salvage point

Leeds started their new reign under Simon Grayson against top of the table Leicester City hoping to get their promotion push back on track after four straight league defeats.

United were boosted with the return of top scorer Jermaine Beckford and also Andy Robinson who have both been out for the last month with hamstring injuries.

Leeds first real chance came on fifteen minutes when Becchio hit the post after good work from Robinson.

Leicester took the lead halfway through the half when after good work from Matt Fryatt allowed Matt Oakley to drill the ball low past Ankergren.

Richardson forced Martin into a good save just past the half hour as Leeds went searching for an equaliser.

Leeds continued to press before half time but went in at the break behind.

The Whites continued in the same vain in the second half in front of over 33,000 fans, the highest in the football league this season.
Chances fell to Becchio, Hughes and Sheehan, just when it looked like Leeds new boss Grayson was going to taste defeat in his first game in charge substitute Snodgrass equalised for Leeds in the first minute of added time.

A good point was earned against a well drilled Leicester City side, a point that brings to an end a run of five straight defeats.
Leeds next game is only two days time the 12.00pm kick off at Stockport County.

Good to see we battled right to the end and got a point, onwards and upwards (hopefully)

Pity the backroom staff didn't tell Grayson before the match that Snotrag has been our best player for the last four matches. Any of them that have his ear, should be sacked for not doing their job. Just keep Neil Thompson.

Agree keep Thompson get rid of the rest, We drew and Town got beat.

Agreed but why didnt he come on when Prutton (thankfully) went off> Still a long way to go with 2 shots on taget in 90 minutes at home. Becks didnt look interested and Robinson still doesnt look fit.
erni
what position was snodgrass playin when he came on? because if we're only playing two strikers i wouldnt be able to choose which one (beckford or becchio) to drop for snodders!
