LUFC - Pressure mounts on McAllister

Leeds went into their home game with Colchester hoping to get their faltering promotion push back on track.

Fabian Delph was welcomed back to the side after missing out on last weekend`s defeat against Tranmere; Frazer Richardson was missing through injury.

On a very heavy pitch due to persistent rain the game took a long time to settle down.

It wasn`t until about fifteen minutes into the game before Leeds created any chance of note, first Becchio and then Prutton had chances to open the scoring.

In a very poor first half the game finally saw its first goal when Snodgrass hit Leeds into the lead just after the half hour.

Snodgrass looked Leeds most lively attacking option and he had a couple of other good chances to increase Leeds lead before the break.

Disaster struck deep into time added on when Dean Hammond heading in a corner for the visitors.
Leeds were unhappy with the goal because Marques had been ordered off the pitch to replace his shirt before the corner was taken, David Prutton was booked for his protests and Gary McAllister also showed his disgust with the referee. Mr Miller is well known to Leeds fans and has previously sent Dennis Wise to the stands during Leeds relegation season at Southend.

Leeds were to be dealt a double blow just after the hour mark when David Prutton received a second yellow card and his marching orders for a foul on the edge of the box. From the resulting free kick Mark Yeates blasted past David Lucas to give the visitors the lead.

Alan Sheehan nearly equalised soon afterwards but his free kick was tipped over.

Sheehan had another chance late on but his free kick was cleared off the line.

On a depressing day weather wise the result did nothing to lift Leeds fans spirit`s, a fourth defeat in a row sees Leeds slip to eight place four points outside the play offs.

I am not sure how Gary McAllister can now lift the squad after this latest setback and with the next two games against MK Dons and Leicester City the pressure is certainly on the manager.

I think this defeat spells the end for McAllister, our home form has managed to keep us near the top, now we can't even manage to win at home!

Wrong time to get shut of Mac, he will turn it round but only if and when he can get rid of the dross in the squad.

Macca trys to plays attacking football which is brill when we win, but this leaves us wide open at the back & we all know how good they are. When teams play us & play set pieces they think maccas Santa because we just give them silly goals. Both of colchesters goals was when leeds was down to 10 men & from set pieces. Could some body work out how many times we've taken the lead just to lose the game to many I think?

I agree its to early to get rid of Macca he has only been here a year we all have short memories he got us back on track last season and he will do it again, i think some of his signings have let him down big time and come January you will see a big change at leeds we have 26 games left its going to be hard but when have we at leeds done anything the easy way, I think macca and Bates know who needs to go and who needs to come in clubs get rid of managers to quickly whn things dont go right but i blame the players some just dont care and are at leeds to get a name, Roll on January im behind Macca 100% MOT,,,, LEEDS AND PROUD STILL
