City Hull vs. Mighty Leeds

KC Stadium

30/01/07

Hull V Leeds

If there was ever a big game to be called a big game, then this is a big game. The Mighty Whites are at the wrong end of the table, as are the Mighty erm, Orangeish and Blacks.

It is safe to say that Leeds need points soon and it would be nice about now, seeing as there is already a 6 point gap between us and the proverbial 'safety.'

This game could also see the return to football of non other than Gus Poyet. Perhaps him and Wise could both play in the middle of the park?

Vital Quotes:

Dennis Wise has told his players this week to go out and enjoy the game. Lets face it if you don't enjoy it what`s the point (ignoring of course the money, women, cars and Widescreen HDTV's of course!)

'If we don't get the right result it doesn't mean we are relegated. That's a load of rubbish.

'One reporter asked me if it was make or break...what a stupid question. There's 17 more games after this one so how can one make or break your season?

I'd kinda agree, but losing against a team that's also fighting for survival isn't exactly helping is it Den?

City Hull Team News:

Phil Brown (no relation of the recently deceased James) is missing 4 players for this vital clash. Nicky Barmby, former Leeds man Livermore, Collins and Stephen McPhee are all oot!

Player to watch: Boaz Myhill

I went for Myhill last time, and I stand by it. The guy is a great keeper and with our big lack of goals, we need to watch for the moment he's not looking...and SHOOT!

Mighty Leeds Team News:

As previously mentioned, Gus Poyet may be set to come out of retirement to help with Leeds' struggles of late. Wisey isn't putting any pressure on the former Chelsea man, just in case he says no I guess.

As far as I'm aware the Stack at the Back is still a tad short of fitness with an ankle injury. The Foxey one sits out with a suspension and erm, Jonathan Douglas is injured. (Anyone want to make up a name for him?)

Player to watch: Our Gus

If he plays, it'll be interesting to see what someone who hasn't really been playing much will do, and if he will make any kind of real difference?

Match Facts & Stats

I'm going for the KISS format for this weeks match facts.

WE NEED 3 POINTS TONIGHT!

Ref Watch:

The referee is (drumroll please!) P J JOSLIN The lino's are N Smith and J Waugh The man with the funky board tonight is C Bassindale

Match Prediction:

2-1 Leeds, the newly Kaiser Cheif's sponsored Tore-Andre Flo with both... ...I predict a riot... ...in the stands when he does!

Next Fixtures:

After this, a tricky tie against Delia's Norwich City. Lets be havin you!
