Leeds V Hull
23rd December 2006
12pm (Please Note The Time)
Some people say that the term 'six-pointer' is a nonsense one but surely if ever a game to be called one, this is it. Leeds haven't looked convincing recently and come up against a side that are struggling just as badly at the moment. Come on boys we NEED this win!
Coventry Loanee Matt Heath: 'It's a massive game for us...Three points are vital and we'll do everything we can to get them.'
Michael Bridges on his return to Elland Road: 'It's a must win game for us. People keep saying it's a bit more special for me because I'm going back to my former club.
'I've got no ties with Leeds as a player now, but I have many fond memories from my time there. There are still a few people down there that I know, so it will be nice to see them when I walk in.'
So, it's must win all round!
Leeds United Team News:
Neil Sullivan seems set to start his first game for Leeds since the 5-1 defeat to Luton (ouch!) after his recall from a loan spell at Doncaster Rovers.
Captain Kevin Nicholls is suspended as mentioned previously due to his silly red card which was so wrong we didn't appeal. Gary Kelly's bad back is still bad, Robbie Blake is doubtful. Kandol and everyones favourite at the moment David Healy look set to start up front.
Player to watch: Neil Sullivan
He started, he went, he's back. Lets see if he's determined to try and save his Leeds career.
City Hull Team News:
Hull look to be given a Christmas boost, Jon Parkin looks set to return after injury, a late fitness test will determine whether he's fit to take up a place on the bench. Nick Barmby will be in the team despite only having a week to recover from a groin injury.
Player to watch: Boaz Myhill
Yes I've gone for another goalkeeper, lets face it when you`re in a relegation zone scrap, you need your goalkeeper to be big. Ex-Villan Myhill has proved that he can play in the upper echelons of the league and has put in some good performances for City Hull.
Match Facts & Stats
This one has draw written all over it. Leeds fans don't get too upset, 1 point is better than 0!
December brings about two away games before the New Year. Sunderland comes next on Boxing Day, what a hideous fixture for any team to go away to!
The 30th will see Leeds travel to Smoke City.
