Newcastle target Dennis Wise?

Newspaper reports are linking Leeds manager Dennis Wise with a shock move to Newcastle; with them claiming that he is being targeted as part of Kevin Keegan's new set-up.

If such a move did happen you would expect him to join them in a coaching capacity, but this appears to be set-up for Alan Shearer, the role that Wise is being linked with is a much more hands on one as director of football, with him being favoured above the far more experience option of Gerard Houllier.

Should Newcastle make such an approach Leeds chairman Ken Bates is unlikely to let Wise, who is also a close friend of his, go without a fight, but this could prove too good an offer for Wise to refuse despite Leeds having a great chance of promotion back to the Championship even after the 15 point penalty deduction before the season even started.
