Palace Want Derry Permanently

According to reports today Neil Warnock is interested in talks to sign Shaun Derry on a permanent deal.

The Crystal Palace big mouth, sorry boss, has the 30-year-old midfielder on loan but now wants to take him for good.

Warnock said to the South London Press, 'We'll be talking to Leeds because his contribution has been good. Shaun's on a good contract at Leeds so we've got to see if they are ready for him to go and also sort things out this end. I think things will be resolved in the next week to 10 days.'

If no deal is done, Derry will have to return to Leeds after Saturday's game v Bristol City.

The Yorkshire Evening Post say it is unlikely Leeds would allow a second loan spell and no official approaches have been received for Derry who has 18 months left on his Leeds contract. They also claim the fee would be in the region of £300 000 if a deal was agreed.

The only question is, how much should we want for him
tedpowelluk
Probably not a good idea he returns as there seems no place for him!!Hope they can cough up enough money being asked for him...

kazza ther is a place in the team for him if u listen to the phone in after the game wisey sed so himself its jusd a matter wether hes prepared too give his all for the shirt

Derry shouldn't have gone on loan in the 1st place we should have played him, Wise obviously doesn't see eye to eye with him. But any money will go towards the fighting fund for promotion
Tiny T
I agree Tiny T, when he left we was very short of midfielders. There is obviously something wrong with Dennis and Derrys relationship.

Maybe a Lover's Tiff..lol

loyalleeds,Wisey must have doubts tho to say what he's said..Maybe Derry's chance has now finally gone with the new boys on the block!!!
kazza
I still have him back think he's better than Hughes whose a bit powder puff in the tackle at times, also a long ball merchant who never hits anyone but the opposition
Tiny T
As a player i would welcome Derry back, he`s good enough, but he`s decided his future lies elsewhere and we`ve no room for players who don`t want to be here, so good luck to him and heres hoping we get a decent price for him

Players like this you should have kept and not send out on loan, must have wanted out?
will it ever happen
