Marques to Track Leeds Progress

Leeds United defender Rui Marques may be off to the African Nations Cup in Ghana this week, but that won’t stop him checking up on Leeds United’s League One progress.

Leeds’ 3-1 defeat against Oldham was Marques last game for Leeds as he jets off to join the Angolan national squad as they prepare for the African Nations cup.

Marques however will be keeping one eye on Leeds as they look to bounce back, out of League One at the first time of asking:

'I am caught between my club and country. I want to help Leeds win promotion but it is also a great honour to play international football.

'I will use the internet to keep in touch with Leeds' results while I am away. One of my objectives was not to lose any matches leading up to leaving but we've lost two in a row, conceded six goals and need to get our confidence back.'
