Wise Unhappy With Derry Rejection

Dave Bassett has admitted that Dennis Wise was less than impressed by Shaun Derry`s rejection of a recall request from his loan at Crystal Palace.

Speaking to leedsunited.com Basset said: 'Shaun decided he didn't want to come back and said he wanted to see his loan out at Palace. Dennis isn't impressed.'

'Alan Thompson shouldn't have started against Oldham. Dougie and Jonny Howson are also out, and we were down to bare bones. When Shaun went out on loan we had players in that area.

'If Shaun had said he wanted to come back that would have been it. If he'd have come back he'd have played against Oldham.

'We wanted him to have games and get him fit,' added Dave. 'That's what he's done, but we're paying his wages and we wanted him back here.'

'It's just left a sour taste because he's either snubbing Leeds United or Dennis Wise.'

Think he may have shot himself in the foot, what if Palace don`t want him at the end of his loan?

Not a bad player though & other clubs would probably be interested!

I thought we had got a bit of an injury crisis when he originally went? That was what surprised me that he went originally. Definitely no way back for him now which is a shame because he never let us down when playing.
