'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fixture Congestion A Problem? No!

Leeds United midfielder Jonny Howson doesn't mind the fact that the games come thick and fast at this time of the year; in fact he can't wait to get stuck in again!

Jonny spoke to leedsunited.com:

'When you have performed like we did at Hartlepool, you want to turn it around and one of the good things is the games come quickly at this time.

'Christmas is an important time, but it's where we are at the end of the season that really counts and we know that.'

With Jonathan Douglas out through long term injury, Howson made a return to the starting Xi against Bristol Rovers and now hopes to stake a claim for his place.

'I'd like to have performed a bit better in the two games I've played,' he conceded. 'But I'll keep working hard and trying to do my bit for the team.'

Perhaps for the likes of Sven it's an issue, dealing with those £50,000 a week stars who find themselves tired after 90 minutes. The not-so-special one could perhaps learn a thing or two from young, hungry players such as Howson.
