Managers Sound the Battle Cries

As Leeds and Swansea face the proverbial six-pointer on Saturday, both managers are fully aware of the implications of defeat, and are coming out fighting, in the press.

Swansea boss Roberto Martinez hopes that Swansea’s big pay day, the visit of Leeds selling out yet another ground, will mean that the home side have that 12th man behind them, the supporters.

Martinez, speaking to the Evening Post said:

“We need to make sure we match what we faced up at Leeds, and I know our fans can do that because they are the best I have seen.

“We will have a sell-out crowd behind us tomorrow, which is very pleasing, and we need to use that.

“We need the fans to be ready, to be full of excitement and to be looking forward to the occasion because that will create an electric environment. The Vetch was a very intimidating place for opposition teams, so why should it not be the same at the Liberty?”

Meanwhile Leeds United manager Dennis Wise wants more from his side following their 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United on Boxing Day, a late Jermaine Beckford goal rescuing a point for the Whites.

Wise spoke to the official Leeds United website:

“It's a massive top of table clash, and there'll be a capacity crowd. They are a big side in this league and as a player you should be looking forward to it.

“I'll get the lads going and hopefully we can get a result.

“We haven't got much time and we have to be prepared. You have to be ready for these things. Everyone is okay, everyone is fit.

“It's difficult at this time of year because you don't want to slog them, but you want to put a lot across to them.”

Its going to be a very hard game for us at Swansea. They are in very good form at the moment.

Still have`nt forgiven Martinez for his comments about our team earlier this season, no doubts that he`s doing the business at Swansea tho, so respect for that
