'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Swiss Still Holding Out

Kevin Blackwell cannot believe how FIFA can get away with the delays that have held up new signing Joel Griffiths' debut for The Whites.

The Australian midfielder joined from Neuchatal Xamax last month, although the Swiss outfit have consistently refused to release international clearance for the 27-year-old.

Blackwell: 'I've never come across a situation where you can't get a player's clearance five weeks after he's signed.

'We've gone through the January transfer window, players have moved all around Europe and been registered in two or three days.

'I'm not happy. I think it's totally wrong and I think there should be some questions asked to the relevant bodies to see why this hasn't been resolved.

'I would like to see our FA sort something out. This lad not being able to work must be close to violation of human rights.

'I wish someone would pull their finger out and get it sorted.'
