Leeds City Bus Damage Costs £5,500

A big thank you goes out to Millwall supporters for the damage that they caused to buses that were kindly put on for their safe passage to Elland Road last weekend.

The pre and post match violence led to a number of arrests and significant damage to a number of buses that were transporting Millwall fans between the cities railway station and Elland Road to watch their side lose 4-2 as Leeds United continued their (now discontinued) unbeaten league run.

A representative of First Group told the Yorkshire Evening Post'The buses were in an appalling condition with glass everywhere. The vehicles will require very careful cleaning to remove the broken glass splinters.

'We are bringing in contractors to replace the windows. As it stands, First will be paying for their replacement, but we are still waiting to hear if we can get help with paying the bill.'

Perhaps those nice Millwall fans (including the Right Said Fred tribute act that were pictured) could chip in a few quid?

i'd like to thank leeds fans who throughout your match against orient continually threw coins at us a few that hit me on the head
mattdiner
Continually? Were they of a decent denomination? You could have made your ticket cost back?
LUFC1
Millwall fans put the windows through so that a coin (which were being thrown by leeds) didnt cause all the glass to fall in on women and children. get your facts right.
aldomillwall
perhaps the easiest thing to do is expel u both from the league, bet you wouldnt hear many complaints around the country!!!!
mansfieldowl
Expulsion from the league is harsh. If anything this game should never have been played on a Saturday at 3pm...if open to fans at all. Closed doors next time at a neutral pitch, and don't tell anyone when it's being played.
LUFC1
"Perhaps those nice Millwall fans (including the Right Said Fred tribute act that were pictured) could chip in a few quid?" - I guess your fans will be chipping in for all the damage you did to our buses, pier etc???
BlondeCherry
Did we not? That's not very nice. Though I hear you've produced leaflets now for our fans if they should be visiting Bournemouth.
LUFC1
Those that took part in any misbehaviour are pathetic. Cant we export them out of the UK to somewhere? Look to our lads in serving in Afghanistan and then reflect on what low life you are. Panorama tonight will show you what this country should be made of. Not divs acting like morons.
greyhound
Greyhound you are bang on, morons who want to fight around the country should be put on the front line in battle!!
dazza71
... and half of these no marks bang on about immigrants. Tell you what I would rather fill up the buses out with these goons on well before any others!
