Poyet Delight at Leeds United Win

Assistant manager Gus Poyet has spoken of his delight as Leeds United came away from the Whitdean Stadium with all 3 points on Saturday, courtesy of a Tresor Kandol goal.

Kandol scored the only goal of the match on 79 minutes, following up on a deflected shot that was saved in spectacular fashion by Brighton keeper Kuipers to blast away any doubts that may have lingered following his penalty miss of comical proportions last week.

'I was happy to see Tresor scoring again,' Gus told LUTV. 'He needed it, and the whole team was pleased for him.'

The match on a whole was a funny affair, with Leeds having the best chances, but not necessarily the run of the play throughout the game and had to rely on Casper Ankergren a number of times who despite his late fumble, matched his opposite number with a fair few decent saves.

Gus added: 'We passed the ball better and moved better, and created a couple of chances. But you still have to think about your own box and be careful, because one goal can lose you the game. Difficult pitches will come and you have to defend. Credit to the defenders and to Casper.'
