Leeds United Keeper Wins Award

Leeds United goalkeeper Casper Ankergren has been named the League One player of the month for September.

It’s rare for a keeper to win the award, however Casper has been in inspired form conceding just one goal in the five league fixtures over the month, that being the late equaliser at Gillingham.

Earlier this week, Leeds United boss Dennis Wise had praised Ankergren’s contribution to the excellent league form saying: "It was disappointing we gave them those opportunities, but it happens, and there's Casper.

"You can see why we chased him."

Casper makes it a Leeds United double for September, as manager Dennis Wise had previously picked up the manager of the month award.
