Blackwell's Disappointment At Crowds
Kevin Blackwell has urged fans to return to Elland Road and help the clubs push for promotion.
Last week's derby against Sheffield United saw a crowd of only 23000 and recent games with Derby and Southampton have failed to break 20000.
For a club showing such signs of improvements, these low figures disappoint Blackwell as he bids to put the club back where it belongs.
'A city like Leeds needs a Premiership club and you would like to think more people inside the city would be supportive of what we are trying to do. On January 22, we were two days from liquidation, now we are fourth in the table. People can make their own assessment but I believe it represents progress.
'There has been a big turnaround by the players and a lot of financial work done by the chairman to get the club in some sort of shape.
'Hopefully people can see there is life in Leeds United after a massive debacle.
'We are moving in the right direction. It is like everything else, if you have some money you can move things quicker. But we know what money does.'
