'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bates staying and Leeds will appeal

Leeds chairman Ken Bates has announced the club will appeal to the Football Association against the Football League's decision to impose a 15-point deduction.

In an open letter published on the club's official website, Bates also said that he is going nowhere and neither are boss Dennis Wise or assistant Gus Poyet, and that the "mindless minority who do their silly chants had better get used to it".

Bates said: "The 15 point 'sanction' is a scandal and a travesty of justice. We are appealing that decision to the Football Association but meanwhile will get on with the job of strengthening the team and getting back firstly to the Championship and then the Premiership."

The chairman also outlined the current situation, what has been happening and what he hopes to happen in the future. Using Elland Road for non-footballing purposes and investing in the scouting and youth systems are set to be a key part of the club's future.

He has this uncanny knack of rubbing people up the wrong way...ever since he stuck the knife in Swindon's back, I would like to see him leave English football (to put it politely). I liked Wisey andCo when they were at Swindon, but they did leave us a little in the lurch, but hey that's the way it goes sometimes. Will be an interesting encounter at the County Ground..tin hats and all that !! No, hope its a good game and both sets behave themselves. Good luck....

We have made a good start to cutting the deficit. I cannot see any appeal working, but you never know!

Might work if everyone involved had a good evening the night before the Appeal...If you get my drift...lol

appeal, appeal, appeal - it won't make a difference, he's reaping what he's sown over the years!

I agree with you merlin..Time KB got on with his own job and left the Player's to carry on the Excellent job they are doing.. They are getting on with the Football, and continuing to keep chipping away at the deficit in hand...

I think you should appeal, the penalty should have been at least 30 points. :-p
The Fear
Things all quiet on the appeal front now, but i still think theres more to come
