Leeds target 105 points - Wise

Leeds United need a staggering 105 points to win League One, according to boss Dennis Wise.

Following the 15-point deduction in return for the club's share in the Football League, winning the title seems a big ask - but at least Wise can't be faulted for showing any lack of ambition.

He made the comments after Leeds put up a great fight against Wigan yesterday (Saturday) before eventually losing 2-1. So 105 points it is, and after being on the verge of not being allowed to start the season, it's good to have something to aim for.

Wise told the club's official site: "I just said we need 105 points to the win the league and if you perform like that (during the friendly against Wigan) you have a chance. It's something that's been put in front of us and we have to deal with it.

"Hopefully something will change and it won't be 15 points, but minus 15 is minus 15 and it's not a nice situation to be in. It's a massive challenge, and there's the fact we couldn't sign anyone and are two months behind everyone else. It's been difficult."

The boss also praised the players who have stuck with the club through difficult times and said he was pleased with the way the team seems to be coming together.

The first step on Mission 105 will be Tranmere next weekend. And hopefully the target will be "only" 102 points at the end of that match!

I think hes got too much going on in that large "tweety pie like" forehead of his!!
Millwalljohn
A big ask, but the appeal should go well and we can make that 105 to 95 maybe.
tedpowelluk
haha 105 points
aldomillwall
105 points would break the League record! I like his optimism.
dazza71

Leeds have got no hope of getting 105 points. you got more hope of having 100 million, than getting that many points. hasn't wise realised that he only has one keeper, who is 18, and three strikers. how do you expect to get 50, let alone 105, with the pathetic squad he currently has
Burdett
leeds will not do well without the 15 point decuction never mind with the 15 points deduction, ure in for a tough time, and i cant say i wish it on anyone else

Im Loving all the interest in us...Time will tell...
kazza
i cant see us getting that but if we get somewhere just below that would be nice still or even getting that
Super-Leeds
your not going to get 105 points. League one is a difficult league and everybody beats everybody. dennis wise needs his head checked if he thinks you can get that many points in this league. Swansea and Forest are going to be the teams to beat.
Burdett
Not a cat in hells chance Wise...wake up lad.
zipadeedoodah
dont worry he'll find out soon enough.... just look what happened to forest!!
Millwalljohn
I somehow doubt mathematics was ever Wise's strong point and I don't think things have changed with that statement.

I think clubs will raise their games against Leeds too... all this hype they are creating themselves. Will admit the team on paper looks okay...a couple of heavy defeats and we'll how shakey they are then.

This target is looking more and more likely now
