Leeds target 105 points - Wise

Leeds United need a staggering 105 points to win League One, according to boss Dennis Wise.

Following the 15-point deduction in return for the club's share in the Football League, winning the title seems a big ask - but at least Wise can't be faulted for showing any lack of ambition.

He made the comments after Leeds put up a great fight against Wigan yesterday (Saturday) before eventually losing 2-1. So 105 points it is, and after being on the verge of not being allowed to start the season, it's good to have something to aim for.

Wise told the club's official site: "I just said we need 105 points to the win the league and if you perform like that (during the friendly against Wigan) you have a chance. It's something that's been put in front of us and we have to deal with it.

"Hopefully something will change and it won't be 15 points, but minus 15 is minus 15 and it's not a nice situation to be in. It's a massive challenge, and there's the fact we couldn't sign anyone and are two months behind everyone else. It's been difficult."

The boss also praised the players who have stuck with the club through difficult times and said he was pleased with the way the team seems to be coming together.

The first step on Mission 105 will be Tranmere next weekend. And hopefully the target will be "only" 102 points at the end of that match!
