Weston wants to play for Leeds

Midfielder Curtis Weston wants to stay at Elland Road and help Leeds navigate their way out of the current turmoil surrounding the club.

The 20-year-old former Swindon man has been on trial this month and, while the club are currently unable to offer him a contract, Weston wants to use tonight's friendly against Darlington to show he has what it takes to impress in League One.

He told the club's official website: "I didn't play on Saturday so hopefully I can get a full game on Tuesday or as much as I can. Pre-season has been really good here. It's been hard with the running, but we've been getting a lot out of it. Everyone's good here as well, there's a good group.

"I had another year at Swindon, but things weren't working out with the manager there, so my contract was cancelled and I came here. Wisey told me to come here. I've been with him twice before, Leeds United is a massive club, and I want to play here."

It's reassuring to read that, despite the club's situation, there are still players who want to play for Leeds United - and as long as that continues, all hope if not lost. And any player who wants to join Leeds at the moment is a player worth having!
