Leeds United To Pay Players

The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) have announced that they are confident the current playing squad at Leeds United will finally be paid for the first time in 7 weeks on Friday.

Having agreed to a wage deferral for the last month of the Championship season, the players haven`t been paid for June, prompting a large amount of pressure from the PFA to sort out the financial problems, as the Football League, PFA and administrators alike try to work out the best way forward for the club during the takeover.

Mick McGuire, deputy Chief Executive of the PFA said: 'I would hope payment of the Leeds players will take place in the next 24-48 hours.'

The only issue with that, it only sorts out the players pay for June. It is more than likely that there will be a similar delay for all cash owed in July. Someone needs to get a grasp of this situation very quickly.

Is this a big step to normality amongst the club? Give the players even more of a goal at the end of each week.
