'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Players Have Their Say!

Leeds United players have now had their voices heard regarding the wage issue via a statement published on the clubs official website.

Following on from the previous story 'Leeds United Players Not Paid', the statement has been made in response to the damning media coverage that has come from the initial admittance that the players had not been paid during June. It reads:

'Shaun Harvey spoke to the players on Tuesday morning to explain the situation to us.

'We understand it a lot better now and and we're hoping the club, PFA, and the Football League can resolve the situation.

'At the moment we are in Germany and are preparing for the season in a professional manner.

'We're hoping the situation can be resolved by the time we return next week.'

Ahh, so life is ok again then?

I am pleased to see that the players are getting on with the football at Leeds. It's clear that the only thing thats holding up the finances is the legal issues about who owns the club. I dont see why its so difficult to sort out. The Football League cannot think it is right that the players are not getting paid so why don't they just rubber stamp the paperwork and get Leeds up and running.
Why would the FL care they are probably enjoying a Big Club like ours having a bad time!!!! Still its not fair to the players they have Families,Homes & Financial Committments just like any of us.. Thank god they are still getting on with the football...
im am suprised at their response i would have thought that they would have been quite angry with it , but good to see that they have put it behind them and are getting on with their pre-season
Well the club need to cough up soon because the players attitudes have a time limit!
Yeah I agree, already Mr Elliot, who defected to the `Pool has commented, something that will be on Vital Leeds United tomorrow!
kazza can you tell me where you get the idea that your a "Big Club" from. The last time I looked you were in the 3rd tier of English football and things don't look too rosy from where I'm sat.
Because of all the press attention and continual speculations we are obviously still seen as a big club. If we wasn't it wouldn't be on Sky Sports News and in the papers daily. We are still a big club like a few others who have fallen on bad times in the last few years.
does not being paid amount to breach of contract? If so, why don't the lot of them feck off and leave you in the poo-poo!
They have all agreed to a wage deferral which included the month of June. Once again its the press stirring it up!
I think it will take a few seasons for Leeds to recover all of this.... Its difficult to believe that not so long ago the club was in Europe!!... Shame
Wolves, pioneers of Euro floodlit football and Englands number 1 club in the late 50's went as low as Div 4. Sheff Wendy have suffered similar. Both could still pull 40,000 with a half decent side. They are of similar stature to Leeds. Yes, Leeds are quite a big club but it still may be a long, long road back.
Aston Smithy
we can only hope
SweetLeftFoot it's not an idea..Its the Truth and always will be..No matter where we are in the football league or what happens to us, we are a "Big Club" and always will be...
Well said kazza, Marching On Together. -Always
Cor Blimey, had to scroll down a fair bit to find you on the main board. LOL, just wanted to say you really deserve this mess you´re in now.
Blue is the colour
Oh what a joke haha..."had to scroll down a fair bit" blah blah. The vast majority of Leeds fans don't deserve this.
