Berlin 2-0 Leeds, Manager Speaks

Leeds United manager Dennis Wise believes that despite the result, the squad have benefited from their 2-0 defeat to FC Union Berlin on Wednesday evening.

Goals from Marco Gebhart and Nico Patchinski consigned The Whites to their first pre-season defeat of the summer, but Wisey was pleased with the work-rate from a squad that contains a hefty number of trialists and non-contract players. Speaking to the official Leeds United website Wise said: "It was a good workout".

"They were a good side and they did well against us. The lads worked hard on the morning of the game, but I was pleased with their fitness.

"Union start in 10 days and are ahead of us. If we'd have been further down the line we would have finished them off, but when you take into consideration the work the lads have put in I was pleased."

So there you go, we lost but the game was useful. Let`s just hope that we are working towards an actual season for Leeds United!
