Paul Jewell Set For Leeds United?

Wild rumours have popped up that one of the rivals to Ken Bates takeover plans is looking to bring in ex-Wigan manager Paul Jewell should their bid be eventually successful.

Following his resignation from Wigan at the end of last season Jewell said that he would be taking a break from football, but there is now a chance that upon his return, he may replace Dennis Wise at Elland Road.

A very long trail of ifs, buts and maybes this one. Though as it`s a slow news day here at Vital Leeds HQ I thought I would post it up anyway!

as a chelsea fan i never warmed to dennis wise. he was aloof and didnt seem to want to make time for the fans, and he was a nasty little player - always prone to red and yellow cards. and subsequently i never saw him as a manager, but he does show some potential. however if i were in charge i would replace wise with jewell in a flash. i was impressed with his achievements at first bradford and later wigan. there is no way chris hutchings will keep wigan in the premiership, and wigan will be a poorer club without jewell around.
Dales_Dad
Wigan WILL stay in the prem dales_dad and it will be nice to welcome back Jewell with Leeds to the JJB because that is where he will take you LUFC1 if you manage to get him
worbo
Yes he has proved himself as a manager and Wise hasn't!
horseworrier
jewell is just that whereas wise isnt.
Eddie01
I like Jewell a lot and he did very well at both Bradford and Wigan. Didn't he leave Wigan because the stress was getting to him? If thats so I don't think Leeds is the place for him!!
dazza71
Rather have a Jewell than a Stone.. Maybe things are looking up at last!!!!!!
kazza
well you cant say jewwel isnt a worse manager than wise id have him if he was on offer
Super-Leeds
I think Paul Jewel is a good manager - would you want an ex Bradford manager though???
herringthorpe
Anyone that can get us back into the Championship is worth a go.
LUFC1
Herringthorpe, the question surely is how could an ex Bradford manager go and take charge of the scummers down the road ;)
Wellers
Jewell made it happen at a couple of Yorkshire Clubs and would be a great signing but Wise is the manager at the moment so lets get behind him. Think positive!

Bit like the Grass is Green..Stick with Wisey for now or at least until Xmas..If he's going to prove himself that in my books would be long enough...
kazza
Wise will be gone if Leeds arent top by Christmas.
