'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Must Show More Respect

Striker Richard Cresswell says Leeds need to improve their record against relegation-threatened teams to keep up the promotion push.

Is it a lack of respect to the strugglers, or do they raise their game when they play Leeds? Whatever, third-placed Leeds have lost to three clubs in the Championship's bottom six and they cannot take Sheffield Wednesday lightly on Saturday.

Cresswell: 'We have struggled against sides in the bottom few and we have to sort that out if we want to do anything this season.

'I enjoyed my time at Sheffield Wednesday. I was only young when I joined, but it turned out to be a good experience because it was a learning curve.

'I moved on to pastures new - that is football. But I did enjoy my time there because the supporters were always great to me - and I am sure it will be a great atmosphere at Elland Road. It is a game I am looking forward to.'

Sheffield Wednesday have been struggling both at home and on the road. But they will be boasted by the return of midfielder Glenn Whelan back in their squad after he recovered from a dead-leg. And striker Steve MacLean is available after recovering from a broken leg.

On the other hand, Leeds are not that lucky with Liam Miller, Matt Kilgallon and Eddie Lewis are all injury doubts while Eirik Bakke is not eligible until February 1 after his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Leeds are without suspended striker Rob Hulse, leaving David Healy, Robbie Blake and Richard Cresswell vying for attacking places.
