Healy Belongs In The Premiership?

Following his £1.5 million to Fulham from Leeds United, Northern Ireland international David Healy has declared that he will prove himself in the Premier League. Healy`s top-flight experience to date came in a single substitute appearance for Manchester United during the 99/01 season and he now believes he can make it on the big stage.

Whilst his international record speaks for itself, he is after all Northern Ireland`s top goal scorer of all time; Healy`s league form isn`t as wonderful with an average of 0.25 goals per game.

Talking to the Fulham F.C. website Healy said "I am confident in my ability and I am confident that I will score goals in the Premier League,"

"I could easily have stayed at Leeds or signed for a club in the Championship, but everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different."

It remains to be seen as to whether Healy can actually cut it in the top division.

We will see in the near future. I personally think he will score a lot of goals in the premiership. He's cut it against quality opponent for Ireland, not many score a hat trick against Spain.

yer we will see alot of people have been saying that he couldnt score goals in the champ so he wont score them in the prem but i think he will

For N.Ireland he is given a very free role upfront and I agree that you cannot argue with his international stats over the recent games. I know he was played differently at Leeds and was lacking consistent quality support but I was disappointed with his overall performance last season. His deminutive size I beleive will go against him in the premiership and I dont think he will get away with jumping into defenders, when he gets frustrated. I really hope he does well but I am not that confident
