Leeds United Fate Delayed

The Leeds United takeover saga looks unlikely to be sorted anytime soon as KPMG have announced they will be taking their time to assess the bids that have been made by prospective new owners for the club.

With the deadline coming at 5pm yesterday (Monday) evening, it now appears that anything up to 4 consortia may have expressed a firm interest in taking over a club that looked set to be re-acquired by former chairman Ken Bates until opposition arose from HM Revenue & Customs.

BBC online are now claiming that 2 out of the 4 interested parties have in fact joined forces, with Simon Franks, chairman of Redbus Investments and Simon Morris, the creator of 'saveleeds.com` now apparently tabling a joint bid which must surely be the bets option for the club.

A statement, released on the official Leeds United website reads: "Following the invitation to bidders to table new offers for Leeds United outside the CVA process, administrator Richard Fleming said: 'We are continuing to evaluate the expressions of interest received and will make a further announcement in due course."

Stay tuned (or logged on) for more information as we receive it.
