Leeds Youngster Signs On

Leeds United midfielder Scott Gardner has signed a one-year contract with the club as he looks to make an impression on Dennis Wise ahead of Leeds` first ever season in League One.

The 19 year old, who is yet to actually feature in the first team, told Yorkshire Radio:

'It's a massive weight off my shoulders.'

'I think I've improved. I was performing steadily at the start of the season, then came into the reserves and did okay.'

With Ken Bates having promised money for the manager to bolster what is now a threadbare squad, as so hastily reported by Vital Warsaw, it will be interesting to watch how some of the academy graduates and members of the reserve team squad manage during pre-season up against the potential new signings
