'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Leeds Prepare For League One Life

With potential suitors for Leeds United having seemingly crawled back into the woodwork somewhere, Ken Bates has shown that maybe, just maybe he actually does want the glory days to return to Elland Road.

With the club sitting out of the transfer market for the time being due to Football League restrictions regarding clubs in administration, Bates has claimed that the club is not just sitting around waiting for time to pass.

"We met some agents and had a lot of discussions about players,' the chairman told Yorkshire Radio.

'We ticked off certain players, agreed a budget and Dennis told me what he hoped his team would be for the first game.

'We've also had provisional discussions with three out of contract players on the list.'

The first team squad (what`s left of it) will return to pre-season training on the 2nd of July, and it is likely that in the same week, the club should gain permission to start signing players again. It now also appears that Bates has realised that we are going to be in League One next season (it had to happen sometime.)

'We know the fixtures and can now start planning for League One,' added the Uncle Ken.

'Hopefully by the time we play at home we'll have three points and be in the second round of the Carling Cup.'

You should be under no illusions, this is a very difficult division to get out of. Forest came stating they would go straight back up and look what's happened to them! There are around 5 teams who can get out of this division next year and you'll have to work hard! Reputation doesn't win you nothing in this league! Good Luck.
