Leeds United Chase Burnley Stopper

Dennis Wise is believed to be interested in bringing ex-Burnley goalkeeper Danny Coyne to Elland Road. Welsh International Coyne, 33 has been released by Burnley boss Steve Cotterill at the end of the season, therefore becoming a free agent.

It is believed however that Leeds will face a fight for the keeper, with Norwich City, Ipswich Town and Cardiff City all believed to be interested in his services. Coyne himself wishes to stay in the Championship, so Leeds` relegation may be another stumbling block. Coyne said: 'It's quite exciting really, so I'm looking forward to finding a new club and starting afresh.

'It gives you that extra bit of hunger again to get back playing and prove quite a few people wrong.

'I want to continue to play in the Championship but I'll wait and see what happens over the summer.'

Leeds are looking for a new goalkeeper after releasing Neil Sullivan, who is likely to be joining Doncaster Rovers. The remaining senior stoppers at the club are Kasper Ankergren and Graham stack who were both at the club on loan, with their future far from certain.

We need a solid defence more than a goalkeeper, we've already got one.
tedpowelluk
Thing is will Ankergren actually stay?
LUFC1
If he does, scrap this idea.
tedpowelluk
I think we will struggle to attrac anybody until the new owners are found. Who wants to sign for a club who isn't paying the players wages at the moment?
dazza71
i agree with Ted our defence was pants last season it needs sorting first.
kazza
i say defence first
Super-Leeds
Surely we're all assuming that Ankergren and/or Stack are staying? Theres been no official word. If both go we are up ***** creek without a boat and therefore a keeper will become a priority!
LUFC1
Would be a good signing because of his exsperiance. But we should try and keep casper.
Mr God
I think it would be good if we kept kasper, we need him, he was decent, all our players did well on our little run at end of season, came to late though
tedpowelluk
You have just got rid of one grandad now you want another one, strange!!!
will it ever happen
