Leeds Boss Fails To Assure Fans On Star Man`s Future

Leeds Boss Fails To Assure Fans On Star Man`s Future

Paul Heckingbottom seems to be in the dark about Pablo Hernandez`s future going by his latest comments about our playmaker.

The Spaniard`s contract expires at the end of the season, and every fan to a man is hoping that the club open their wallets to allow him to stay for longer. Hecky said to Leeds Live he wants the 32 year old to stay, but he remained tight lipped about progress over a new deal for the player:

'Pablo`s been one of the best performers for me when I`ve had him available, he`s been one of the best performers. My priority at the moment is working with Pablo, seeing if he can improve still further because he loves the game, his enthusiasm is brilliant, but the priority is keeping him fit between now and the end of the season so we can give him the best possible chance to help us and help himself in terms of his contract.'

Another class goal against Reading at the weekend means his season tally is now up to seven with another eight assists to his name as well.

Pablo is the type of player that the club should be desperate to keep hold of, unlike many of the players that Victor Orta brought in before the start of the season.

The midfielder maybe 32, but he still has at least a couple more years left at the top level. I have no doubt that other Championship clubs, or even some Premier League teams, will be waiting in the wings to sign him on a free transfer. We need to do everyone we can to keep him at the club.
