Robbie Blake`s goal and overall performance in Leeds United`s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace has seen the 31-year-old striker record one of the highest scores in this week`s Actim Index - the Official Player Ratings of the Coca-Cola Championship.
Blake, who is currently ranked 246th in the Index, climbed 68 places thanks to his performance against the Eagles. He was on target 18 minutes from time, taking advantage of a deflection off Kevin Nicholls to beat Gabor Kiraly from the edge of the area. Actim Stats reveal that this season the former Burnley and Birmingham City star has contributed six goals, 30 shots, 10 tackles, three interceptions, 203 passes, 17 dribbles and 29 crosses, in 1,279 minutes of football.
Leeds United`s highest-ranked player so far this season is USA international Eddie Lewis in 142nd position. The 32-year-old left winger has scored two goals and had 20 shots at goal. He has also made 60 tackles, 13 clearances, 22 interceptions, one block, 23 dribbles, 83 crosses and 244 passes in 2,366 minutes of first team action.
The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Two additional calculations, which take account of player assists and goalkeeper`s clean sheets, have been added for the new season to increase the amount of variables a player is now measured by.
Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Leeds United players are:
8th Highest Ranked Midfielder
Index Score: 255
5th Highest Ranked Striker
Index Score: 231
6th Highest Ranked Defender
