LUFC Leeds United Fan View v Aston Villa

LUFC Leeds United Fan View v Aston Villa

Vital Leeds United contributor Tiny T gives us his usual view of the game at Elland Road.

He gives his view of the performance following the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

Wiedwald 6
Wiedwald was competent enough but his long distribution is weak. He rarely reaches the half way line. He stood no chance with the goal.

Ayling 7
A much better display from Ayling.

Jansson 8
A towering header for the goal and he defended well.

Cooper 8
Cooper was great defensively and some of his long balls were tremendous.

Berardi 7
He kept Snodgrass quiet.

Vieira 8 Star man
An all action display from Vieira.

Phillips 7 ,/B>
He got stuck in.

Alioski 7
He worked hard on the flank but no real chance in front of goal.

Saiz 7
Not his night. He tried to be too tricky at times and it didn`t come off.

Hernandez 7
We missed him after he went off injured.

Ekuban 7
He worked hard. He is not a goalscorer though.

Roofe 6

He struggled to get to the pace of the game.

Sacko 4
He offered nothing.

Not on long enough.

A great first half and we were on top from the goal. A towering header from Jansson saw us justifiably lead at half time.

We were snappy all half as Villa struggled for any fluency and with better decision making around their box we could have been further in front.

Second half we were not as good, Villa improved and we went backwards.

Cooper had a second goal ruled out for offside and the inevitable happened, they equalised.

Before the game, I would have settled for a point but a little disappointed not to get the three in the end.

Defensively we have come on leaps and bounds in recent games with the exception of the Wolves game. We lack a goalscorer up front, a priority for me in January.
