LUFC Vieira Out And Saiz On The Brink Of Suspension

LUFC Vieira Out And Saiz On The Brink Of Suspension

Ronaldo Vieira will serve a one-match suspension for his sending off at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The young midfielder was already facing a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the game when he was shown a second yellow card in the game and a red card.

His fifth yellow card of the season would have seen him serving an automatic one-match suspension under the totting up system and the trip to Barnsley this weekend but the yellow card was superseded by the red card for his second yellow card of the game.

The cut off for five yellow cards is this weekend with Samu Saiz the only current Leeds player in danger of missing the Aston Villa game the following Friday if he is cautioned at Barnsley this weekend.

Kalvin Phillips, the only player to serve a one-match suspension this season under the totting up system, picked up his seventh yellow card of the season at Wolverhampton and he is now just three more yellow cards away from an automatic two-match suspension with the deadline running until March 11th 2018.

Vieira`s red card on Wednesday night was the third to be shown to a Leeds player so far this season. Liam Cooper served a one-match suspension after picking up two yellow cards at Cardiff City and Gaetano Berardi served a three-match suspension following his straight red card at Bristol City.
